Powering Walmart Chile's transition to 100% green logistics

Green Hydrogen Systems was selected by ENGIE Chile and their sub-contractor Nhoa to deliver a HyProvide® A60 electrolyser unit to the first industrial-level Green Hydrogen Production Plant in Chile and Latin America. The plant is located at Walmart Chile, at its Quilicura distribution centre, and was inaugurated on August 10th 2023.

The project, soon to be replicated at other locations, will allow Walmart to initially replace the lead-acid batteries in 200 forklift trucks with hydrogen fuel cell powertrains, reducing the production of 250 tonnes of toxic waste per year. The replacement of the fleet with the new efficient units will greatly improve the productivity and efficiency of the centre, in addition to being beneficial to the environment. A key step towards energy sustainability and the reduction of emissions in the logistics and retail industry.

As a leading electrolyser original equipment manufacturer, OEM, we are proud to support this transition towards a 100% green hydrogen logistics fleet.

HyProvide X-series

The X-Series is based on the existing well-proven technology, optimised for use in the growing market for large-scale applications in, for example, industry, energy and heavy-duty transport sectors. Its unique multi-stack concept allows the electrolyser to reach higher voltages crucial to utilise mass-produced, low-cost and high-efficiency power electronics from wind and solar markets operating in the 1000-1500V range.
